After almost 6 years since its Launch , Yamaha has decided to update their popular motorcycles The FZ anf FZ-S , providing some thorough upgrades . The new changes see the motorcycles being taken off some of its bhp , while getting a boost in fuel economy . Yamaha states that the new bikes will be using their new Blue Core technology , which aims to produce more efficient combustion , and better mileage . Both cosmetic and mechanical upgrades have been provided on the bikes .
Cosmetically , The 2014 FZ and FZ-S remains similar to the numerous Test mules that had been spotted earlier .The new changes include :
- Split Seats
- New Tail lamp
- An all new Digital Console with Eco-meter
- New rear Tyre hugger
- New indicators
Mechanically too the bikes get fair enough changes. The Engine has become more advanced providing fuel Injection , advanced combustion chamber, lighter moving parts to name a few . However the displacement has been brought down to 149cc and so has the performance output, which is bit of a disappointment . The new bikes doesn’t come with Rear Disc brakes either.
The 2014 FZ V2 now produces 13.1 ps of power at 8000rpm ( a decrease in 1 ps ) and 12.8 Nm of Torque at 6000rpm ( reduction of almost 0.8 Nm) . However Yamaha claims that the reduction in power output will not affect its performance . The Bike is now officially the lightest motorcycle in its segment and the cheapest to come with Fuel Injection.
Pricing of FZ and FZ-S
Yamaha FZ 2014 – 76,250 /- ( ex-showroom Delhi )
Yamaha FZ-S 2014 – 79,250 /- ( ex-showroom Delhi )
This makes the new Fz V2 expensive by almost 6000 Rs .
Yamaha states that the old-gen FZ Version wont be taken off production and will be sold along side the version 2.
