With their Japanese Rivals bringing out 200hp+ motorcycles , how can a passionate Italian be far behind. It almost seems like the reign of the sub-200hp superbikes have come to an end . The motorcycles that have entered the 200hp club include the 2015 Yamaha YZF-R1, the 2015 BMW S1000RR , The Kawasaki Ninja H2 and Ducati Panigale 1299 , all of which have just recently made it to the list. A new benchmark has already been set , lets check out what Aprilia has to offer.
The 2015 Aprilia RSV4 RR makes 16 horses more than its predecessor and what is interesting is that it has also went down a good 1.5 Kg. The added power and reduced weight surely gives its a huge bump on the performance stats. The bike sports a 999cc engine which produces 203.83Ps of power at 13,000 rpm and 115Nm of torque at 10,500rpm.The power to weight ratio being 1ps per Kg.
Coming to the design, it almost feels like nothing has changed . However Aprilia has made it clear that the front fairing has been completely redesigned and is now much more aerodynamic than before. LED parklights and a new set of mirrors have also been added. The Chassis remain the same , except for the length increase of the swing arm by about 14mm. However the special design of the RSV4 chassis makes it much more easier to adjust and the engine has now been lowered to a lowest possible height setting. Improved stability being the main advantage.
The 2015 Aprilia RSV4 RR will come in a choice of 3 Engine maps – Track, Sport and Race, all of which can be selected while the bike is in motion. Some changes on the bike include a new Fuel injection system,The Aprilia Performance Racing Control (APRC) system has been upgraded to second generation, new exhaust system, Titanium valves and new gear Ratios . Ohlin Suspension and titanium forged Alloys have been provided as optional equipment.
Stay tuned for more updates.
