Tata Hexa Concept Revealed At Geneva.
It might still be a concept , but how proud are we of the Indian manufacturer.Meet the Tata Hexa aka Eagle concept which was showcased at the ongoing Geneva International motorshow. The car is set to replace the Aria in most markets , including India , and is according to the manufacturer “the beginning of an all new design language for Tata SUVs ” .
Though based on the Aria , it is now virtually impossible to point out any sort of similarity. The overall design has been made more muscular and aggressive , something which is easily visible at the front. The 6-seater SUV now gets an all new bumper, with a large air dam, outlined by brushed-aluminum inserts. The large projector headlamps , are now sharper and merges in with the wider honeycomb grilles. The bonnet is now more muscular ,and comes with a power bulge. The huge foglamp housing and the brushed aluminum inserts on the grille , complete the list of changes.
The side resembles the Aria ,but the aggressive side cladding and the huge 19″ wheels soon take that thought off our minds. The B, C and D pillars have been blackened out and the wheel arches are now much more prominent.
Ditching the minimalistic approach , the rear design has improved a lot. Staying true to the ‘Hexa’ tag , the tail lamps are now hexagonal in shape. The dual exhaust has been retained , and are now integrated on to the faux brushed aluminum skid plate.
2016 Tata Hexa – Dimensions
With this dimension , the new Hexa will be the longest SUV in its segment and will surely command a lot of respect on the road.
The interiors sports a 6-seat configuration, with individual captain seats for the front two rows , while a smaller bench seat is provided at rear. Just like the recently launched Bolt and Zest , the new Hexa will come with a whole lot of improved features and equipment
Mechanically the 2.2-litre Varicor motor seen on the new Aria will be provided on the Hexa , and is capable of producing 158PS of power at 4,000rpm and 400Nm of torque between 1,700 – 2,700rpm. Features like ESP , automatic lighting , rain sensing wipers , 6 airbags , curtain units etc will be provided.
The Tata Hexa concept does look awfully lot like a production version , and should make its way to Indian shores soon. Any substantial change from the concept is not expected.
