The DC Avanti- India’s first indigenous sportscar will be making debut in the country on the 15th of this month. The bookings for the car had began months ago, with an amount of Rs. 15 lakhs. The Avanti was first showcased at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo, and since then had been spied testing many a times on Indian roads. Expect prices close to Rs. 35 lakhs for the car.
Mechanically, the DC Avanti derives power from a 2.0-litre four cylinder turbocharged mill, which churns out 248 bhp of power at 5500 rpm and 340 NM of torque between 2750 to 5000 rpm. The engine comes paired to a six-speed transmission sending power to the rear wheels. Carbon fiber has been used for many parts of the body, bringing down the weight. The Avanti measures 4,550 mm in length, 1,965 mm in width, 1,200 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2,700 mm

The car comes with 20-inch rims with 255/35 tyres on the front and 295/30 tyres on the back. Braking duties will be done by 330 mm ventilated four-pot disc brakes at the front and 295 mm ones at the back. Double wishbones at all four wheels and monotubes with gas-charged shock absorbers takes care of the suspension duties. Continental ABS system is provided as standard. The ground clearance is 170mm.
On the inside, The Avanti gets a three spoke steering wheel, large programmable TFT display and infotainment module, body coloured panels and much more. Bi projector halogen head lamps are provided as standard.
