Japanese manufacturer Isuzu has imported their MU-X SUV to India for R&D purposes, indicating a possible launch in the country .The company made official debut in India in 2013, providing SUVs like the Isuzu D-max and the Isuzu MU-7. However due to the limited reach, most of their cars including the MU-7 failed to bring in much customers. The upcoming MU-X could be positioned above the MU-7 or may be brought here as a replacement.
The Isuzu MU-X sits above the MU-7 both in looks and features.The exterior sports a premium design, having prominent twin slat grilles, wider wheel arches and an overall muscular feel.On the inside, the 7-seater is done up in black and comes with lot of interesting equipments such as climate control, rear ac vents, leather seats, cruise control, multi-function steering wheel, six way adjustable driving seat, ABS, ESC, EBD and a terrain management system.
The Isuzu MU-X is powered by a 2.5 litre diesel mill producing 134 HP of power and 320 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 5-speed transmission, sending power to either two or all wheels .
On launch the Isuzu MU-X will be priced close to Rs. 20 lakh range. The car will be assembled at Isuzu’s upcoming 3000cr facility in AP.
