[Video] Nissan GT-R Hits Electricity Pole at 170 kmph, Driver Walks Away With Mild Injuries.
In what can be seen as a miraculous escape, Russian national footballer Andrey Yeshchenko walked away with only minor injuries after his £125,000 Nissan GT-R hit an electric post at high speed. However the same cannot be said about the car, which looks completely destroyed. Investigation is currently going on, recent reports stating that the sportsman was doing in excess of 170 kmph (105 mph) at the moment of impact. The below CCTV footage seems to agree..
The footage is definitely terrifying and why he lost control in the first place is not known. People who witnessed the incident stated that the footballer refused any sort of help or medical examination. Whether or not Yeshchenko was under the influence is also yet to be known.
Powered by a 3.8-liter DOHC twin-turbo V6, producing 552 horsepower and 612 Nm of torque, The Nissan GT-R is capable of attaining 3 figures in less than 3 seconds. Definitely not a car that you should be fooling around with.
Andrey Yeshchenko made national debut on 11 September 2012 in a FIFA WC qualifier match against Israel and was also part of Russia’s 2014 FIFA World Cup squad. The 31 year old defender is currently playing for Russian club Kuban Krasnodar, on loan from Anzhi Makhachkala.
