Fiat India will be bringing the high performance version of their Fiat 500 hatchback- The Abarth 595 Competizione to the country on 4th of August this year. Incidentally this is also the same date that Honda will launch the CBR650f motorcycle, whose booking has already began. The Fiat 500 Abarth will be brought here via the CBU route, so expect prices close to the 30 Lakh range.
The Fiat Abarth 595 Competizione definitely deserve the title of ‘Hot Hatch’. The car comes with sporty looks, roof mounted spoiler, Abarth decals and badges, twin exhaust and a 17-inch alloy wheels warped up in 205/40 section tyres. On the inside the car gets sport seats, sporty flat bottom steering wheel, all black interior and sunroof.
Safety features on the 2 door hatchback include seven airbags, electronic slip differential, ABS, EBD, torque transfer control and some.
Powering the Abarth 595 is a high performance 1.4-litre, turbocharged, MultiAir petrol engine that produces maximum of 158 bhp at 5500 rpm and torque of 230 Nm at 2750 rpm (On sport mode). On normal mode the torque remains at 201 Nm. An Automated Manual Transmission ( AMT) with manual override is coupled to the engine.
Following the Fiat Abarth 595 Competizione, The Punto Evo Abarth T-jet and Avventura Abarth is also expected to be brought to the country. The former has already been seen testing in India and will come with a 1.4-litre, turbocharged, T-Jet petrol engine developing 133 BHP.
