Mahindra XUV aero concept has been unveiled at the Auto Expo 2016. The car has been made taking inputs from Mahindra’s India designers in Mumbai and their Italian design team from Pininfarina. The car looks very similar to the official sketches, released few days back.
The SUV-coupes shares front design with the Mahindra XUV500 however it is much more inclined and gets longer front grilles, LED headlights and L-shaped DRLs. The front air intakes are bigger as well, getting LED inlays. The side of the car doesn’t seem to be perfected yet, and gets a slopping roofline flowing in to a stubby rear, which gives the car a coupe appearance.
On the inside, the concept gets bucket seats and premium biege upholstery. A suicide door has been provided, which makes the rear easily accessible.
Though the specifications are not known, this will be India’s answer to high end luxury coupe-SUVs like the Mercedes-Benz GLE Class and BMW X6, when launched. Ofcourse, highly competitive pricing will be on offer. The car could be powered by the same 2.2-litre diesel engine, producing 140 bhp of power doing duty on the XUV500- unless a better mill is made.
The Mahindra XUV Aero concept has been confirmed as the future design path for all of the manufacturer’s cars, which makes this a very exciting showcase at the auto expo.
