The Datsun Go Cross concept has been showcased at the Auto Expo 2016. The car is a crossover version of the currently available Datsun Go+, and was showcased first at the Tokyo motor show in 2015. The car will be locally manufactured in India and Indonesia, and will be priced very competitively.
The Datsun Go Cross concept is a much more sportier, rugged version if the regular Go+ and is definitely better looking. The front gets sleek headlamps, big hexagonal grilles, highly detailed bumper with circular foglamp and LED DRLs. The side look beefier than the go+, courtesy of the grey coloured body cladding. The character lines are aggressive, and looks great on the concept. The car also gets roof rails. The rear gets silver coloured skid plates complimenting the overall ruggedness of the car.
Powering the Datsun Go cross could be the same 1.2 liter, 3 cylinder mill that produces 68 Ps of power at 5,000rpm and a 140Nm of Torque at 4,000rpm. The engine is mated to a 5 speed transmission.
The Datsun Go cross concept definitely looks good, but how much of the design will be carried over to the production version is unknown. On launch the car is expected to be priced aggressively near the 5-6 lakh range, which would be a game changer. Further Datsun could bring along two variant- of 5 and 7 seating capacity.
The interior pictures are not available yet, and will be updated as soon as they comes out.
