The Mahindra KUV100 Xplorer is a cosmetically beefed up version of the popular car, and was showcased at the Auto Expo 2016. The manufacturer currently sells the Xplorer package for a premium of Rs. 50,000/- over the base price.
The Mahindra KUV100 Xplorer package brings together some of the exterior accessories available for the car, and makes it look like a proper rugged mini-SUV. The package includes additional cladding, side skirts, bonnet scoops, door and tail lamp protectors.
The exterior has been provided with silver coloured body cladding all through out, with protruding design elements. The front is much more aggressive, and a ‘KUV100 xplorer’ badge can be seen behind the swept back headlamps. The bonnet scoops get contrasting black cladding surrounding it. Beautifully designed roof rails can be seen from the side. The rear gets spruced up taillights with cladding and chrome lining, and a spoiler with twin stop lamps. The car rides on 14″ wheels.
The interior of the Mahindra KUV100 Xplorer is completely unchanged, and the car gets dashboard mounted gear lever, two seating options- 3+2 and 3+3 and same set of seat fabric.
Powering the car is a 1.2 litre, three cylinder mFalcon G80 petrol engine that produces 82 bhp at 5,500 rpm and 115 Nm of torque at 3,500 rpm. It is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission and returns 18.15 kms per liter. The car also comes in a 1.2 litre, three cylinder mFalcon D75 diesel trim, which can produce 77 bhp at 3,750 rpm and 190 Nm of torque at 1,750 rpm. It’s mileage is 25.32 km/l.
Mahindra KUV100 is priced starting from Rs. 4.45 lakhs (Ex-showroom, New Delhi) , and the Xplorer trim will be priced Rs. 50000 over that.
