Mahindra & Mahindra has launched the NuvoSport in India at prices starting from Rs 7.35 lakh (ex-showroom, Thane). The NuvoSport replaces Mahindra’s earlier model Quanto, and the manufacturer is hoping that their new car will be successful, especially with its more appealing design, new engine, chassis and suspension.
Talking about the engine, the Nuvosport comes powered by a mHawk diesel motor tuned to produce 100 bhp of power at 3750 rpm and has a peak torque of 240 Nm between 1600-2800 rpm. The engine comes equipped with two drive modes – Power and Economy. In the Economy mode the power output is dropped to 71.6 bhp at 3250 rpm and 180 Nm of torque between 1600-2100 rpm. The SUV returns an ARAI certified fuel efficiency figure of 17.45 Km/l.
The SUV is 3985 mm long, 1850 mm wide and has a height of 1880 mm. Its wheelbase is 2760 mm and its ground clearance is of 180 mm.
Nuvosport’s exterior gets considerable changes over the Quanto, and gets all new styling, restyled headlamps, new turn indicators on the sides, LED Daytime Running Lights. It has narrow grille, larger air dams, new headlamps. It has chrome surround fog lamps and more stylish bonnet. This new car gets door cladding, daytime running lamps and new alloy wheels.
New Mahindra Nuvosport Interior comes with new tech including a touchscreen infotainment system, Kenwood music system, navigation, steering-mounted controls, cruise control, reverse parking camera, Bluetooth, USB and AUX connectivity and 60:40 split rear seats that can be reclined. The SUV is available as a 7-seater but will be offered in a 5-seater configuration as well.
The NuvoSport is being offered in six variants – N4, N4+, N6, N6 AMT, N8 and N8 AMT – with the mid and top variants getting the AMT gearbox option. It is available in 6 color option, Molten Red, Regal Blue, Mist Silver, Rust Orange, Diamond White and Fiery Black.
