TVS Apache RTR200 4V Modified or Apache 200 Adventure Tourer?
A customer modified TVS Apache RTR200 4V has been spied in Indonesia. The sales of the bike have just began there. The latest Apache is still not available in India.
As per reports, This tasteful RTR200 4v modification is done by a custom house in Jakarta, Indonesia. The changes are almost entirely cosmetic. Though TVS has no plans of an Adventure bike in the near future (that we know of), it will be exiting to see them taking up this path.
Talking about the bike, A dual tone red-white colour scheme has been provided. The front gets a bulky half fairing, which gives the bike a beefier look. The added fairing seems to beautifully hold up the stock indicators. Up front a tall windscreen has been provided, which is definitely an adventure essential. On the sides, Deltabox and TVS racing decals can be seen, which should be just for improving the aesthetics. Differently designed swingarm and fuel tank can also be see.
The utility part of the Apache 200 Adventure is also well taken car of and the bike gets a 12V charging port near the instrument console and two Givi panniers at the rear. The knuckle guards and wider front mirrors are also welcome additions.
Mechanically, the same single cylinder engine which produces 20.7 HP of power and 18.1 Nm of torque continues. The engine is mated to a 5-speed transmission. The braking has improved with addition of regular dual front disc brakes instead of the single petal disc brakes.
Even though the publication that released the images claims that the bike is customer made, there are speculations that this is an upcoming model. With all the new features, and the possibility of a new frame, it would be great to think so. However the bike doesn’t have any other equipment like long travel suspension, high ground clearance and spoked wheels to make it an adventure bike.
But then again are the really necessary?
