The Hero Splendor iSmart 110 has been launched in India for a price of Rs. 53,000/- (ex-showroom,Delhi)
Hero Motocorp has launched their first indigenously developed motorcycle after splitting from Honda, called the Hero Splendor iSmart 110. The bike was earlier showcased at the Auto Expo, Delhi and this is the manufacturer’s 2nd commuter from the iSmart range.
Powering the bike is an all new ‘developed in India’ 110cc mill, which produces 8.9 HP of power and 9 Nm of torque, mated to a 4 speed gearbox. The bike is claimed to have ‘best in class’ fuel economy figures of 68 kmpl. This is achieved partially with the help of Hero’s i3S technology (Idle Start Stop System). This system stops the engine after 10 seconds of idling in neutral and simple twist of throttle brings it back to life (similar to engine kill switch). This helps to reduce unwanted fuel consumption.
The Hero Splendor iSmart 110 has a very conventional design with some modern features, which should attract most buyers. The dual tone colour schemes look good and the bike sits on a new double cradle frame. Other features include new alloy wheels, tubeless tyres, new headlight and taillight with AHO (auto headlamp on) and sporty split grab rail.
The Hero Splendor is one of the top selling motorcycles in the Indian market and the new 110cc motorcycle will surely help to improve the numbers. The new iSmart 110 will compete with the Honda Livo, Yamaha Saluto RX and the TVS Victor 110.
