-2017 Swift coming up next year
With the incoming of new competition, Maruti Suzuki’s popular model ‘Swift’ is taking some heat. The car had recently slipped out of the 5th place in India’s ‘top 10 most selling cars’ list, and Maruti seeing the threat has now brought out a DLX variant. The limited edition model puts in more features to the base trim, and increases its desirability.
The Maruti Suzuki Swift DLX limited edition is the manufacturer’s way of maintaining the freshness surrounding the car, and in the process bring in some more customers. Some of the features of the new edition include Sony FM Music system with Bluetooth and USB connectivity, power window on all 4 doors, central locking, foglamps, body coloured handles, engine immobiliser and more.
With cars like the Renault Kwid and Hyundai i10 performing really well, competitive pricing and good features are the best way to go. Even in the premium segment, tight competition can be seen between the Hyundai Elite i20 and the Maruti baleno. This has now somewhat sidelined the ageing Swift (even with the recent update). Don’t get us wrong, the car is performing amazingly well for a vehicle that has completed over 11 years and 15 lakh sales in the market, still managing thousands of sales each year.
Maruti Suzuki will continue to push the sales of the Swift until the 2017 model comes out. The car will mark the biggest update for the Swift since its launch, and more modern features will be added on. You can all read about the upcoming car here: 2017 Maruti Swift.
