KTM 800 Adventure- Full report
With KTM boss Stefan Pierer saying that the recently spotted Duke 800 will be first of the new 800s to appear, we were all expecting to see test mules of an adventure or sport derivative, but not this soon.
MCN has released spy pictures of what is a very early prototype of the 800 Adventure, that should only be revealed in 2018.
The Austrian manufacturer is currently working on a range of new motorcycles and updates, all of which will be introduced in the 3 years from now. Some of these include their sub-500cc updated Duke line up, 1290 Super Duke update and the new 800s.
KTM 800 Adventure- Exterior
Though most exterior features are too early to judge, it is clear that the bike wouldn’t share much with the Duke 800, except for the engine. The bike can be seen with new swingarm, chassis, subframe, high mounted exhaust system, new fuel tank and front end.
KTM 800 Adventure- Engine, Transmission
The KTM 800 ADV will come with a new 800cc, parallel twin cylinder mill, which will also do duty on the Duke 800. Transmission will be a 6-speed unit.
|Expected Power||100+ bhp|
KTM 800 Adventure- Launch date and price
The bike’s concept has been revealed at EICMA 2017. A production model is expected to be revealed in 2018.
Much like the KTM Duke 800, its adventure derivative is also expected to be produced and launched in India. Price should be near £9000 in UK (Austrian-made model) and based on our calculation, just over half that in India.
|Expected price in India||Near Rs. 5 Lakhs|
