Toyota Etios facelift New vs Old- 2017 [Platinum] vs 2016 model- Comparison
– Toyota Platinum Etios launched in India– Full report
Toyota Etios facelift has been spotted testing couple of time in India with slight camouflage. The car will come with exterior and interior similar to the top-end Toyota Etios platinum available in Brazilian market.
Here’s a pre-launch comparison between the existing models and upcoming model:
Toyota Etios facelift new vs old- Exterior
Most of the cars exterior changes are concentrated in its front fascia. The plain design on its previous model is now completely restyled to look much aggressive. While the headlamps look similar, the grille separating them on the new model is v-shaped with black inserts and chrome lining. The front bumper gets premium looking design elements, larger air intakes, faux silver skid plate and circular foglamps.
The side and rear gets subtle changes like indicator integrated ORVMs (which is now a staple in the segment), side skirts, new diamond cut 15” alloy wheels, restyled rear bumper and a boot integrated spoiler.
Toyota Etios facelift new vs old- Interior
Overall styling inside the cabin remains similar. While the Brazilian variant is provided with an all black interior, we in India might get a dual tone black beige colour scheme(as seen on spy pictures). The centre console looks much more premium in the new ‘platinum’ model, and redesigned steering wheel, new fabric upholstery and better looking, ‘Prius’ inspired digital instrument cluster can be seen.
Some features like the new steering wheel may not be provided on the Indian spec variant.
Toyota Etios facelift new vs old- Engine
The powertrains of the old model will be retained. These include a 1.5L petrol engine producing 90PS of power and 132 NM of torque and a 1.4L diesel mill producing 68 PS and 170 Nm.
