New KTM Duke 200 2017 spied, to miss out on some features
2017 KTM 200 Duke has been spied testing for the first time. It gets KTM’s newer design language that is also seen on the 2017 Duke 390, but seems to miss out on some premium features.
New KTM Duke 200 Design
Design is almost identical to the upcoming Duke 390 and everything has been made sharper than the current model. Its front get completely restyled headlamp with LED indicators positioned just above it. The fuel tank is chiselled and comes wrapped in a long, sleek cowl. Other changes include new conventional exhaust system, different seats and sharper tail section. Its rear is slightly different as well.
The bike is built on a new Bolt-on type frame, the additional sub frame helping to improve stability.
New KTM Duke 200 features & equipment
It can be confirmed from spy pictures that new front brake lever, a new brake master cylinder, RC-style grab rails, redesigned instrument console and tank mounted ignition key slot will be part of the 2017 Duke 200. ABS availability is still unclear but we are expecting it to be provided at least as an option.
2017 KTM Duke 200 – Features it will miss out
When compared to the Duke 390, the Duke 200 misses out on the improved center console with smart phone integration. The one on the latter seem to an upgraded version of that on the existing bike. Obviously the handle mounted navigation keys are also missing (as far as we can make out).
This makes us infer that premium features like ride-by-wire may also not be provided.
