New Honda WR-V could really dent sales of Brezza
The new Honda WRV has been launched in India for a very exciting price tag of Rs. 7.75 Lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). Production of this Jazz based crossover takes place at the company’s Tapukara plant in Rajasthan. While the car is based on the Jazz’s platform they do not share much cosmetically, which is unlike most crossovers in the segment.

2017 Honda WRV – It’s not just a beefed up Jazz
The Honda WR-V doesn’t share much with the Jazz on its exterior. It gets an all new, aggressive front fascia with a brawny bumper and new headlights. Obligatory body cladding is provided through out, and chiselled side and completely different rear (characterised by new boot lid and bumper) can also be seen. Expect ground clearance of 200mm.
Overall we love Honda for bringing a whole new car instead of a beefed up Jazz. Its SUV-ish design is sure to impress Indian customers.
Interior looks similar to the Jazz and is good. The car gets an all black colour sheme with features like 7-inch ‘DIGIPAD’ touchscreen infotainment system, WiFi support and panoramic sunroof. Safety features like standard ABS, airbags and reverse parking camera are also provided.
2017 Honda WRV engine – No changes here
The Jazz’s engine options will be carried forward. This means that a 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol producing 90hp and a 1.5-litre Earth Dreams i-DTEC diesel producing 100hp will be provided. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission only.
