2018 Husqvarna Vitpilen 701 spied
Husqvarna Vitpilen 701 has been spied testing. The bike seems to be in final stages of development and we can expect it to come out sooner rather than later. The bike’s concept was first showcased three years ago.
The Vitpilen looks good and its minimalist design should mean a light, fun-to-ride motorcycle with adequate power.

Husqvarna Vitpilen 701 design, specs
The Husqvarna Vitpilen looks similar to the concept in design. It gets a circular LED-ring headlamp at front, peculiar shaped fuel tank, exposed frame, plush pillion seat and a short rear. The alloy wheels have changes again and are not as good looking as the previous versions. There are no protruding wires or extensions, indicating that the bike is almost ready for production. However, the mismatched coloring of the frame & fuel tank, exposed electric wires and boxes are an eye sore. Considering similar priced competition from Triumph, it is better if Husqvarna addresses these issues.
The main frame of the Vitpilen 701 is a steel trellis, while the sub-frame is a self-supporting air-box. Its suspension will be sourced from WP, with USD forks at front and monoshock at rear. The brakes seems to be adequately big and dual-channel ABS will be provided.
Husqvarna Vitpilen 701 engine
Powering the Vitpilen 701 is a single cylinder 690cc motor that should produce 65 horsepower. Bikes such as the Husqvarna 701 Enduro and 701 Supermoto also get the same engine.
With bare minimal addition in its body, we expect the Vitpilen to be light, realistically near the 180 kg mark.
Husqvarna Vitpilen 701 price, release date
The Vitpilen 701 will be officially revealed at the EICMA 2017 while launch could happen early 2018. Price will be between £8500-9000 mark.
Husqvarna Vitpilen 701 India
Even though the Husqvarna Vitpilen 701 is made in India, it will not come to the country initially. However, with the brand undergoing an expansion drive, the bike could come here by late 2018 or early 2019.
Stay tuned for more details.
