2019 Honda HR-V facelift spied
The Honda HRV facelift has been spied testing in Malaysia. The crossover was seen with camouflage on its front and rear, indicating that there are changes concentrated in these areas. However, it is unlikely to change much, especially since it is nearing the end of its life cycle.
The Honda HR-V is one of the manufacturer’s most popular products and is currently available in a number of countries. Design changes are minimal across available markets, so updates in Malaysia and other Asian countries could reflect in USA and Europe as well.
From what we can make out, it seems that the new HR-V will get an updated front fascia with a sportier bumper. The Honda logo is placed higher up and its grille could be slightly redesigned. There are changes to its foglamp housing as well.
Honda might revise the bootlid of the HRV facelift, as well as provide new tailight graphics.
On the inside, changes should be kept minimal. However, upholstery might be changed and some features could be upgraded. These include changes to its infotainment system, as well as the Honda Sensing suite .
Power for the car comes from mainly three engine options, namely a 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol, 1.6-litre i-DTEC diesel and a hybrid 1.5-litre i-VTEC+i-DCD unit. These are unlikely to change. In USA, the car comes with a 1.8-liter, i-VTEC producing maximum of 141hp. Front wheel drive is standard but some models do get AWD.
2019 Honda HRV facelift price, release date & availability
The new Honda HR-V facelift will go on sale in Malaysia and south east Asian countries next year. Its not confirmed whether the facelift will come to other markets yet but that seems very likely.
New HR-V India
Honda is planning to bring six new SUVs to India by 2020 and the HR-V is confirmed to be one of them. The manufacturer feels that the market has matured enough to accommodate premium range crossovers which was one of the reasons why we didn’t get the SUV alongside other Asian countries.
Price will be on par with car’s like the Renault Captur and Hyundai Creta, top end variants could even overlap with the new Jeep Compass.
