Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500X spotted – Sporty cosmetic changes
A sportier version of Royal Enfield’s Thunderbird cruiser is all set to launch in India. The bike titled ‘Thunderbird 500X’ was recently spotted at a dealership in four colours- White, Red, Blue and Orange. It comes with a host of cosmetic upgrades and at the moment, only the 500cc variant has been confirmed.
The motorcycle looks good and Royal Enfield might extend it to the 350cc version once it is proven successful.
|Price||Rs. 1.97 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi) *|
|Launch in India||2018|
Royal Enfield had good success with the Classic 350 ‘Redditch series’ motorcycles and like them, the TB 500X gets flashy colours on its fuel tank. Almost all other parts are finished in black, its powertrain and exhaust system being matte.
When compared to the standard model, a premium single piece seat is provided whose colour mimics that of the exhaust. The rear back rest has been removed and its new handlebar should provide a sportier stance. Its rear view mirrors seem to be lifted from the Himalayan.
The TB 500X is also Royal Enfield’s first production model to sport alloy wheels in stock, and comes with a good looking nine-spoke unit.
Overall, the dual tone colour scheme is doing wonders to the Thunderbird’s aesthetics. This, along with the new seats and alloy wheels provide a completely different character to the bike, and we are loving it.
As per reports, the Thunderbird 500X’s changes are purely cosmetic and it will continue with the 499cc single cylinder mill. It is capable of producing 27.2 bhp at 5,250 rpm; and 41.3 Nm at 4,000 rpm, and comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500X price and launch date
Since the bike has already reached dealerships its launch might not be too far off. We expect the Royal Enfield TB 500X to debut somewhere in January 2018. Its prices will be higher than the standard model.
