BMW has rolled out its first batch of eight BMW i8 hybrid supercars to customers at a special event conducted by BMW in Germany . In the process BMW becomes the first laser light equipped production car to ever hit the roads. The BMW i8 is a plug-in supercar from BMW and is expected to be launched in Indian (not soon) at a price of almost 1.2 crores . The car was earlier showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo .
The BMW 18 is powered by a 1.5 Litre turbocharged three Cylinder Engine , which gets it power from an Lithium ion electric motor . The maximum power output stands at 362bhp and BMW claims that the car can 0-100 kmph in less than 4.5 seconds and has a Top speed of almost 250 kmph . The Electric motor itself will provide almost 35 km in a single charge. The car is made on a Carbon Fiber Body making it entirely sustainable .The BMW i8 when showcased at 2014 Indian Auto Expo was a pure treat to the eyes and we where left drooling in its glory. Doors Up or Down ,There doesn’t seem to be any imperfection whatsoever ,with this car .It looks like something out of a science fiction movie . Coming to the Laser Light Technology used in the car , BMW claims the new lights provide much more intensity and Efficiency than the existing LED’s .

The BMW i8 is the second in line to the BMW i series . The BMW i3 was launched officially Last November and enjoyed fair bit of sales . The i8 is also getting huge customer inquiry’s and booking and the production is going on in fast pace. The BMW I8 is infact proof that Supercars will still roam our road even when the Last Bit of Petrol Finally Runs outs .
