After lots of anticipation, spy picture and sneak peaks later , the 2015 Ducati Scrambler will make its official Debut at the 2014 Intermot at Cologne ( September 30) .With the new Scrambler Ducati has gone way back to olden times and the design is said to be totally inspired on the original Scrambler, from the 60’s and the 70’s. The bike is an unusual yet interesting change from what modern Ducati is all about.
The original Scramblers where naked street bike which were were prevalent in the 60s and the 70s . The bikes had bare minimum fairing, had single cylinder engine ranging from 125-450 cc capacity. These bikes where not just distinguished by their smaller capacity ( infact sub-500 cc motorcycles where very common back then) , but where also cheaper and easy to live with .To know that such bikes existed , goes on to show that Ducati was not always about the mean superbikes that we know today .
Ducati motorcycles, now owned by Lamborghini a subsidiary of the Volkswagen group has confirmed that the Scrambler will indeed debut at the Intermot , through a series of 3 videos titled the ‘Franco and Elvira Story’ . A private screening of the bike was also conducted by Ducati at the world Ducati week earlier this year.
The Ducati Scrambler is expected to go on sale by first half of 2015.
Stay tuned for more updates.
