Almost 40 years after the last common man’s Ducati- The Scrambler rolled out of the manufacturer’s Borgo Panigale plant in Italy, The iconic motorcycle has made a comeback. The production of the 2015 Ducati Scrambler has re-began from the same place it was put to rest in the 70s. Much has changed since then , but Ducati has somehow managed to keep the retro looks and affordability still intact.The revival of the Scrambler was made public to the world six months back , when Ducati did a private screening of the bike for their employees at the Borgo plant. The bike then went on to be officially unveiled at the 2014 Intermot Autoshow.The 2015 Duacti scrambler signifies the birth of a new outlook in the long history of the Italian manufacturer, and in their own words ,
The Ducati Scrambler means the birth of a new brand, a new approach to the motorcycling world that looks beyond performance and technology to encompass freedom of expression, fun and shared positivity
To commemorate the first Scrambler to come out of the production line after its re-birth , A “Land Of Joy” based theme was put up all through out the facility , fit with green lawns, music, street food and Ofcourse the big yellow container.
Based on varied taste of their customers , four types of the Ducati Scramblers will be made . A wide array customization options will also be provided with the motorcycles.The variants are :
- Urban Enduro
- Full Throttle
All four Scramblers will have their own individuality and cosmetics .But they will share a common powertrain. which will be a 803cc air cooled , 90 degree L-Twin mill ,producing close to 75 hp of power and 68 Nm of Torque at 5300 rpm. The bike has a wet weight of 170 Kilograms.
The first of the Scrambler will reach dealerships by January 2015 , and it is confirmed to be the Icon version that will make debut.
- 2015 Ducati Scrambler Icon Red : £6,895 ( 6.64 Lakh INR )
- 2015 Ducati Scrambler Icon Yellow : £6,995 (6.74 lakh INR)
- 2015 Ducati Scrambler Urban Enduro , Full Throttle and Classic : £7,995 ( 7.70 Lakh INR)
These prices are of the European models .
Ducati is expected to make official Indian debut next year ,and the Scrambler is one of the prime motorcycles that is going to reach here. Expect prices much higher than the ones given above.
