Renault India will be launching the Lodgy MPV , in the first half of 2015. To keep things interesting ,last week they revealed the official pictures of the Indian variant .Ofcourse the car is already on sale in the European market , under the Dacia brand name. Both the cars obviously look similar and even features the same equipment.
The highlight of the Lodgy will surely be its massive 2,810mm wheelbase. This ensures that the MPV will have plenty of legroom on offer , which will be complimented by a fair amount of headroom. The interiors will resemble the duster at most parts , which include the instrument cluster, infotainment system, steering wheel, gear lever etc, and is not something we are too excited about. However a bump in quality can be expected.
The Renault Lodgy is not the sportiest MPV in India , but there isn’t anything to complain either . Unlike the Dacia variant , This car gets a lot of chrome treatment . The front grilles and the side cladding are finished in chrome while the roof rails are now partially silver.Headlights , bumper and mostly every other part of the car remains similar to the Dacia Lodgy .
Mechanically , the 1.5-litre dCi engine seen on the Duster will be used in the Lodgy. Both the 85bhp and 108bhp states of tune will be made available.
On launch , the car is expected to be priced between 8-12 lakhs. This makes it cheaper than the Toyota Innova , and on par with chief competition like Honda Mobilio and Maruti Ertiga .
