The Cabriolet version of the hugely popular Evoque has received green signal from the top officials at Range Rover. The car which was earlier showcased in the concept form at the 2012 Geneva Motor show , took almost 3 years to be finally materialized. It is heard that , marketing rather than engineering reason were to be blamed for such a held up.
Well ,debates could go either way on this one. The Range Rover Evoque Convertibles is not something that you typically expect from the manufacturer. If you ask us, the car does look beautiful and the whole thought of letting your hair flow , while sitting in a Range Rover , is something we are really looking for.
The Evoque convertible will be almost entirely similar to its 2012 concept . Expect the car to be launched by august this year. Whether it will reach India is yet to be known.
The 2-door SUV will be using Fabric soft-top instead of the typical heavy metal overlay. And to be frank it doesn’t look out of place in anyway (atleast in the concept). Infact the fabric roof top nicely blends with the sleek and muscular creases on the SUV.
The Evoque has been one car that changed the entire design concept of Range Rover. With the success of this car, the manufacturer migrated to an all new modern design outlook ,which has since been followed on to many of their other cars. So the Evoque , as per Range Rover is the most fitting candidate for such an experiment.
The manufacture claims that there will be no loss of their signature offroading prowess in the soft top. The use of light weight materials ensures that the performance and efficiency will not suffer as well. The car is expected to be priced at £45,000 in UK , which roughly translates to about 43 lakh Indian rupees.
