Indian motorcycle’s has launched the Chief Dark horse in India at prices starting from Rs 21.99 Lakhs. The motorcycle , which is based on the Indian Chief gets a whole lot of matte black , and minimal chrome (unlike the chief). The Polaris owned motorcycle manufacturer has decided to follow a completely different path this time , and the Dark horse speaks for itself.Every inch of the bike gets the ‘Black treatment’ , which include the forks, handlebars, engine and bodyworks.The only noticeable chrome is in its exhaust and the fenders.A monochrome Warbonnet graphics has been provided , which is something exclusive for the Dark Horse.The unpolished approach is also new and something completely unseen from the manufacturer.
The 2015 Dark horse will be one of the entry-level offering from Indian Motorcycles, and is mainly designed for solo motorcyclists.The bike gets a 42-inch high single saddle, which massively increases its appeal. However, a pillion seat would be provided as optional . Other equipments that are visibly absent include the oil cooler, analog fuel gauge and the driving lights.The chrome wheels seen on the Chief, have been replaced with black cast alloys.
Powering the new Dark Horse is the staple 1811cc air and oil-cooled Thunder stroke V-twin, capable of producing 161 Nm of Torque.Features like electronic cruise control and ABS is provided as standard.
