Lamborghini always has something special in store for Geneva , and this time too they haven’t broken that routine. In what is possibly the most eye catching stall there, the Italian manufacturer has introduced the Lamborghini Aventador LP 750-4 Superveloce , or (in short) the Aventador SV .
Claimed to be the “the most pure incarnation of a Lamborghini till date” , The Aventador SV is said to be the fastest, most sports-oriented, and the most emotional series-production Lamborghini ever. And we do believe them!
Coming to the design , raw carbon fiber elements are clearly visible through out the car , infact (almost) everything dark we see here is made of CF.The front gets a menacing carbon fiber bumper , and so does the side skirts. The quad tail pipes now sits on a carbon fiber made diffuser. These are in addition to the CF monocoque chassis , which is a standard feature of the Aventador.
The extensive use carbon fiber sees the Aventador SV losing almost 50 kgs, to a kerb weight of 1,525kg.
The ‘light weight’ fixed rear wings can be manually adjusted in 3 different ways , for varied performance results.Overall the new aero package helps to increase to the downforce of the car by a good 170 percent.
Coming to the more important details , The new Lamborghini Aventador SV is powered by the same 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 , but with a higher tune. The mill now produces 740 horses at 8400 rpm and 690 Nm of torque at 5500 rpm. The SV accelerates from 0-100kmph in 2.8 seconds , and 200 reaches in 8.6 seconds. The car has a top speed of 350 kmph , which as you can see is very close to the ultra premium-rare Veneno. The Engine is mated to a 7-speed automatic gearbox , sending power to all four wheels via a permanent 4-wheel drive.
Mechanically , Carbon Ceramic brakes , titanium exhausts and a new horizontal magneto-rheological push-rod suspension (MRS) will be provided as standard .The MRS helps to individually control the damping of each wheel, and thus improving the overall cornering speed.
The Aventador SV becomes the first Lamborghini to get the ‘Carbon skin , which is essentially a soft but strong fabric made out of Carbon fiber. Its application can be seen on the roof lining, sports seats and other sections of the cabin.Other than this , Black microsuede covers most surfaces.
Lamborghini has confirmed that the new Aventador SV will be priced at £285,804 (439,525 $) ,which is 2.71 crores in Indian rupees.Launch is expected to take place in a few months time.
