Triumph motorcycles India has launched the Tiger XRx & XCx in the country , expanding their already existing Tiger line-up to three motorcycles. The tiger XRx is priced at Rs 11.6 lakhs while the Tiger XCx costs Rs 12.7 lakhs.These are in addition to the Tiger 800 XC, which currently retails for Rs.10.5 lakhs here. ( all prices are ex-showroom , Delhi). Both motorcycles were earlier showcased at the 2015 Indian Bike Week.
Mechanically the bikes are powered by an 800cc 12-valve in-line 3 cylinder mill capable of producing 95 PS of power and 79 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox , and is claimed to provide smoother fuel delivery and better efficiency.
Some standard features on both motorcycles include :
- Switchable ABS
- four different throttle maps
- More advanced trip computer
- Traction control
- Three configurable riding modes
- Auto cancel indicator
- 19 liter fuel tank
- two 12V auxiliary power sockets.
Of the two motorcycles the Tiger XRx is more road focused , while the XCx is more at home in conditions off it.. The former comes with 19-inch front and 17 inch rear alloy wheels , while the latter gets 21-inch front alloy wheels.Features like fully adjustable WP suspension, front mudguard, sump guard and radiator guard seen on the XCx will not be provided on the XRx. The seat height of the XCx is also 10mm higher than the XRx.
Triumph India managing director, Vimal Sumbly told PTI that the British manufacturer plans to sell 2500 motorcycles per year , in the coming three years in India.He also said that one more product from the ‘Tiger’ range would be launched here soon.
