Honda motorcycles and scooters India has launched the CBR650f in the country at prices starting from Rs. 7.30 lakhs(ex-showroom, Delhi), at the ongoing Honda Revfest 2015 . The much awaited sports tourer will only be sold through select 14 ‘wing world’ outlets in the country. Bookings have already began for an amount of 50,000 INR.
Along with the 650f, the Japanese manufacturer has also brought out cosmetic facelifts to their CBR 150r and CBR250r and a completely new motorcycle – CB Hornet 160r ( Trigger replacement).
The 2015 Honda CBR650f is powered by a 649cc in-line four-cylinder DOHC mill that produces 87 PS of power at 11,000 RPM and 62 Nm of torque at 8000 RPM, paired to a 6-speed transmission. The capable mill propels the bike from 0-100 km/h in less than 4 seconds and helps to achieve a top speed of 225 km/h. Braking is done by 320 mm front twin discs with two-piston calipers and a single 240 mm rear disc with a single-piston caliper. 41 mm USD forks and spring-preload adjustable monoshock does suspension duties at the front and rear respectively. ABS is offered as standard on the bike.

The design of the bike is subtle without any flashy bits, and is perfect for a motorcycle in the segment. Single headlamp arrangement can be seen and the single seat set-up along with higher placed clip-ons ensure maximum comfort even on longer ride.
At the price, The CBR650f is not the cheapest in-line 4 available in the country ( see Benelli TNT600i), however it does enjoy advantage of added fairing. The bike will be brought to India via the CKD route with 5% localisation, being assembled at the manufacturer’s Manesar plant.
