Hyundai has reportedly increased the production of their Creta compact SUV in India owing to increased festive season demand, while an equally popular Ford Figo Aspire has managed to garner more than 4000 bookings in its first month, making it Ford’s second volume seller after the Ecosport.
The Hyundai Creta now caters more than 50% of sales in its segment (which includes cars like the Ford Ecosport, Renault Duster ), clocking close to 7500 units last month. The increased demand for the upcoming festive season has pushed the manufacture to increase production to 7000 units per month, again 6000 units earlier planned for this year. The car had managed to rake in more than 40,000 booking in its two months of launch and the new 16% production increases should help to reduce waiting period.
The Huge success of Creta along with good performance of the Elite i20 and the i20 active has also helped Hyundai to achieve their highest ever monthly sales figures last month, touching 40,505 units.
Talking about an equally successful car, The Ford Figo Aspire has managed to clock in 4000 bookings in its first month of launch. The car which is priced very aggressively at Rs. 4.90 lakhs, competes in the crowded compact sedan segment along with Maruti DZire, Hyundai Xcent and the likes. Clearly improved looks and added safety features are going in favor of Ford here.
The Ford Figo Aspire and the upcoming Ford Figo are very important for the American manufacturer’s future prospects in India, who up until now has has only one mass market offering- The Ecosport. The manufacturer currently has the Mustang (5.0L GT) lined up for this Festive season.
