Tata Bolt Sport has been showcased at the Auto Expo 2016. The car is a sportier, performance oriented version of the bolt, and was unveiled at the Geneva Motorshow last year. The car is one among the many performance oriented Tata cars that will come out of the partnership between the manufacturer and Coimbatore-based Jayem Automotives.
The design of the car looks great, with new bumper, air dam, new grille, lower bumper lip, rear spoiler, side skirts, fender air scoops and large 17 inch alloy wheels. The new additions aesthetically enhance the already good looking bolt.
Powering the Tata Bolt Sport is a revised unit of the 1.2 liter Revetron turbocharged mill, producing 120 HP of power and 170 Nm of Torque. The engine is mated to a 5 speed manual transmission. Making possible these figures is a bigger turbocharger, remapped ECU, tweaked gear ratios and high flow exhaust.
The interior of the remains mostly similar, but gets contrasting stitching on an all-black upholstery, sun roof and sport pedals. The suspension and brakes have been sports tuned, and gets performance brake and suspension kits along with new brake pads.
Though it is still unsure when Tata motors will launch the car in India, with more powerful hatchbacks like Maruti Baleno RS and Volkswagen Polo GTI being launched, there is possibility that it is sooner rather than later.
