The Tata Hexa MPV has been showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo. This car will succeed the Aria, and gets a very aggressive design language, unlike its predecessor. It has everything that is needed to be in the top of the segment, and time will tell if it reaches this coveted spot. The car was first showcased as a concept at the Geneva Motor show.
We took a good look at the Hexa at the Auto Expo, and we are happy to say that the Indian manufacturer has done a very good job. The exterior design is muscular and aggressive, unlike the Aria which had a rounded design. The front gets sleek headlamps, which are positioned along with good looking bonnet and grilles. The side and the rear are beautiful, and usual design flaws associated with MPVs are not seen. The car gets 19-inche five-spoke alloy wheels.
Tata has come a long way in terms of its interior design, and much like the Zica and the Kite 5, the cabin of the Hexa looks really good. The dashboard and the center console are neatly designed. A touch screen infotainment system from Harman and Tata’s own Terrain response system and 4WD drivetrain system will be provided on the upcoming car, along with four different driving modes – Dynamic, Comfort, Automatic and Rough-Road.
Powering the Tata Hexa is a 2.2 liter VARICOR diesel engine, delivering 154 HP of power and 409 Nm of torque. Price at 10 lakh to 15 lakh INR, the car will find competition in the Mahindra XUV500, the recently unveiled Toyota Innova Crysta and the likes.
