Remember the gorgeous TVS Akula 310 that was showcased at the Auto Expo 2016? Now TVS has released an official video of the bike, chiefly aimed at showcasing their racing prowess and the technology that went in to its making. We could see a production version of the Akula being unveiled as early as this November, making it the first motorcycle to be born out of the TVS-BMW partnership.
Akula in Russian means shark and the the sharp design really does do justice to the name. Though we are not quite sure how the final product will end up, atleast some inspiration from the concept’s design will be enough to be a huge threat to ‘segment topping’ Austrian- KTM RC390.
Talking about the new video, it starts off by showing some of TVS’s racing history and quickly moves on to the new ‘race inspired’ machine. As informed by the video, the new TVS Akula 310 gets carbon-fibre body works, a very aerodynamic body with RAM air intake system, race spec aluminium trellis sub frame, on board gyro cameras, steering damper, lightweight aluminium component, all digital instrument console and racing suspension.
Powering the bike is a race tuned version of the 313cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled DOHC mill currently doing duty on the BMW G310R. On the production version the same mill should be retained.
