KTM Duke 800 complete report
The Duke 800 is an all new, upcoming twin cylinder motorcycle from the Austrian manufacturer, which is expected to be produced in India.
The person who clicked the image said that the bike looked smaller than an 800cc, igniting rumors of a 500cc twin as well. If you remember KTM boss Stefan Pierer’s 2014 interview with Overdrive, you will know what I’m talking about.
In 2014, Stefan indicated that KTM is working on 2 new parallel twin engines- 500cc and 800cc, which could be produced in India by 2017. He went on to hint a possible launch in the country by saying that “India’s high duty structure makes local manufacturing the most cost effective way to introduce motorcycles here”.
KTM, as always will provide ample features on the upcoming bike which include USD forks, twin front disc brakes, alloy swing-arm, high-swept exhaust and a fly screen at front.
The new design path, as seen on the upcoming sub-500cc Dukes, will also be provided on the Duke 800. This is evident from the sharper fairing and extension of the tank cowl. Infact, KTM seems to have borrowed the existing Duke 390’s single headlamp for this motorcycle.
