Jeep India has officially commenced its operations, by opening dealerships at Delhi and Ahmadabad. The company plans to expand this number to 10 by the end of this year.

After long wait of almost 3 years, Fiat Chrysler has launched the coveted Jeep brand in India today. The company will open two dealerships initially, one in Ahmadabad and other in Delhi. Chennai, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chandigarh, Kochi and Bangalore ones will be set-up within this year.
Jeep India SUVs- Cars available
As part of their initial plan, the company has launched three cars- Grand Cherokee, Grand Cherokee SRT and Wrangler unlimited. All three will be brought to the country via CBU route.
People looking for something more affordable from Jeep India may have to wait a bit more. Fiat will invest close to $280 million in the country and local production of atleast one Jeep model will start in 2017-2018.
Update: This car will be the upcoming Jeep C-SUV (compass), that should retail for Rs 13-20 lakhs.
Jeep Wrangler Unlimited
The Jeep Wrangler is only available in its long wheelbase ‘unlimited’ trim. It is the company’s most affordable model, that is until the new C-SUV comes out.
Powering the car is 2.8-litre diesel engine producing 197bhp and 460Nm of torque.

Jeep Grand Cherokee
The globally popular Jeep Grand Cherokee occupy India’s premium SUV space, powered by a 3.0-litre V6 EcoDiesel engine delivering maximum of 240bhp. The engine is paired to a 8-speed automatic transmission sending power to all 4 wheels.

Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT
For people who need twice as much power on the same car, there’s always Jeep’s Grand Cherokee SRT which was showcased at the Auto Expo 2016.
Powering the SRT variant is a 6.4-litre HEMI V8 petrol engine tuned to produce 475bhp of power.
