Benelli is all set to launch their TNT 135 ‘Mini Naked’ bike by March 2017. The bike was showcased at this year’s Auto Expo in Delhi and is reported to come with a price tag between Rs. 1.3 lakhs and Rs. 1.5 lakh. We however expect it to be priced slightly lesser than this as it falls in to very price sensitive space.
Talking at the opening ceremony of a new DSK-Benelli showroom in Vadodara, Shirish Kulkarni Chairman of DSK Motorwheels said,
We are busy completing the formalities, including trial, before commercially launching a 135cc mini bike by March next
As you can see, the Benelli TNT 135 is slightly different in design as compared to other motorcycles in the range. However it does come with mild ‘TNT’ family traits, which are also some of its major talking point.
Suspension duties are done by 41mm USD front forks and pre-load adjustable lateral shocks at the rear. Braking power is provided to the rather small 12 inch wheels by 220mm disc at the front and a 190mm disc at the rear.
Powering the Benelli TNT 135 is a 135cc, four-stroke, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine which is expected to produce 12.6bhp at 9,000rpm and 10.8Nm at 7,000rpm. This mill is mated to a 5-Speed transmission.
Benelli is also expected to launch their premium Tornado 302 ( 302R) next year.
