How’s it exterior? – looks great
The SsangYong LIV-2 is a thorough, near production concept and we should see much of its design being incorporated on the new Rexton and Mahindra SUV. The car looks slightly like the Ford Endeavour as well, its American traits shining through at the front.
At the front, projectors headlamps can be seen with integrated DRLs and a brawny bumper. Sides are long with muscular outlines, flared wheel arches and sporty roof rail, while the rear is large with LED taillights and muscular bumper.
Overall the LIV-2 is a great looking concept and we expect the production Mahindra model to look just as good.
What about the Interior? – Spacious and Feature rich
Wheelbase of the LIV-2 concept is 120mm longer than that of the new Toyota Fortuner. This not only ensures imposing road presence but also a very spacious cabin. While the above figure might not be exactly replicated upon production, we can expect a car as big as (or bigger) its chief competitors.
Interior will be an upgradation of new-generation Mahindra cars and could come with features like 9.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple car play, 10.1-inch display for rear occupants, Automatic climate control, mood lighting, and more.
Safety features like 9 Airbags, Hill Descent Control, ESP, Active Rollover protection, Advanced emergency braking system and ABS with EBD are also expected.
So Interior of the Mahindra XUV700 will be spacious, feature rich and premium in design.
What are the available engine & Transmission options?
The XUV500 should be available in both petrol (later only) and diesel power trains. A 2.0-litre GDi turbocharged petrol unit producing 225bhp of power and 349Nm of torque and a 2.2-litre turbodiesel engine that produces 184bhp of power and 420Nm of torque is what’s expected under the hood. They will be mated to either 6-speed manual, 6-speed automatic (Petrol) and 7-speed automatic (Diesel).
What Mileage can we expect?
Fuel economy of the Mahindra XUV700 should be near 15kmpl for diesel variant while it will be 10 kmpl for the Petrol.
When will the Mahindra XUV700 (Y400) launch in India?
A fixed launch date isn’t revealed yet but Mahindra could showcase the car at 2018 Auto Expo Delhi, with a launch scheduled thereafter.
At what price?
Price is expected to start from Rs. 18 lakhs for the base petrol 4X2 Manual trim.
