2017 Honda CBR250rr / 350RR USA- Price, Launch, Specs
The Honda CBR250RR made debut in Indonesia in 2016. It looks identical to the manufacturer’s Race-ready ‘Light Weight Super Sports’ Concept and has a very powerful engine to boost. However, production is currently limited to some Asian markets and the bike not expected to make its way stateside.
Thankfully, we might not be totally left out as Honda is heard to be working on a more power 350RR for launch in western markets. Details are still sketchy but expect more to be available later this year.
2017 Honda CBR250rr / 350RR Design and specs
The new CBR250RR’s design is inspired mostly from its bigger siblings and even the new CBR150R. There are some noticeable similarities with bikes from other manufacturer’s as well (like Ducati and Yamaha). It looks good and can be seen as an aggressive version of the CBR300R.
Colours: Racing Red, Anchor Grey Metallic, and Mat Gunpowder Metallic
The bike gets USD forks, rear Pro-link shock, single 310/240 mm disc for front and rear respectively. ABS is provided as standard.
While its design and extensive list of features is great, some aspects like the ugly dual exhausts are not to our liking. The choice of decals, especially for the black variant, should be given a second thought as well.
2017 Honda CBR250rr / 350RR Engine, Transmission
Powering the new CBR250RR is a frugal 249.7cc 4-stroke parallel-twin engine producing 38 horsepower and 17 pound-feet of torque at 12.000 rpm. The mill is mated to a 6-speed transmission and get features like programed fuel injection and throttle-by-wire system with acceleration position sensor
2017 Honda CBR250rr / 350RR Price and Specs
As we said it is unlikely that the new CBR250RR will come to U.S. However a more powerful, higher displacement variant can be expected. Hopefully, 2019 is the year that it will finally happen.
CBR250RR Early report
Ever since the Honda CBR250rr prototype was showcased, people have been anxiously waiting to see one in the flesh. Now a Japanese magazine-Young machine has rendered the hotly anticipated bike taking inspiration from the prototype and the recently launched 2016 Honda CBR150r. The new pictures were released just a day after photos of the motorcycles’ headlight assembly was leaked.
A production spec image of the Honda CBR250rr has been leaked online. As per latest report, the bike will be unveiled by 3rd quarter, 2016. Global launch will take place in 2017.
The headlamp design was filed at some of Europe’s patent offices. The design is very aggressive hinting that the bike will be similar to the prototype. Twin headlamp set up will be provided and LED DRLs are expected.
Talking about the new render, the bike has been made as sharp as possible, which is also what we expect it to be. The headlamp is almost consistent with the new leaked design and the rear gets split seats. Official pictures of the bike should come out by later this year.
Powering the Honda CBR250rr is a twin cylinder quarter liter mill which is expected to produce power figures close to the 40 bhp mark. The engine could sacrifice power at lower RPMs for more peak power. Features like USD front forks, ABS, large front and rear disc brakes etc will be provided.
