In India, Fiat would be skeptical about the Argo’s prospect (since the Punto didn’t do so well) and we are not sure if it will launch here. If they have such a plan, expect the car to be present at the 2018 Auto Expo, Delhi.

Fiat Argo Exterior

The Fiat Argo is very different from the outgoing models and gets a design inspired from the Tipo. However, they are not all similar as Fiat already has the Tipo hatchback in Europe and they want to provide the new car with a district identity.

Up front, the Argo gets a prominent grille and wide headlamps. The bumper is new and can be seen with a large airdam and associated foglamp housing. Its sides sport a large 16” alloy wheels and are devoid of cladding, while the rear has new bumper and horizontal taillights.

Fiat Argo Interior

The car has a wheelbase of 2.5m and is thus expected to have ample space inside the cabin. An Argo models spied earlier came with an all-black dashboard, dual pod instrument cluster, and paddle shifters.

Features like floating touchscreen infotainment system, automatic AC, rear AC vents, Cruise control, ABS, EBD, reverse parking camera and more are expected to be provided.

Update: Top spec model has a dual-tone interior while the lower trims are all black.

Fiat Argo engine and transmission

The Brazilian-spec Argo will come powered by 1.0-litre, 1.3-litre and 1.8-litre petrol-ethanol engines, the last one is capable of producing up to 139 hp. A handful of manual and automatic transmission options are available as well.

In UK, the current 1.2 and 1.4 petrol engines that are on the Punto could continue. This will be the case in India too, where the existing 67bhp producing 1.2-litre mill and 90bhp, 1.3-litre diesel will remain.
