Kia Stonic has been officially unveiled
Kia will launch a crossover to go up against the Nissan Juke and the Renault Captur, called the Stonic. It will be based on Hyundai’s Kona platform and shares many features with the Rio.

The Korean manufacturer has also confirmed that the new Stonic will be their most customisable model, with wide range of accessories for both exterior and interior
At the front, their signature tiger nose grille has been retained but the car as a whole looks fresh. There’s an aggressive bumper, vertical foglamps, large intakes and sleek headlamps.
The Kia Stonic is not as quirky as the Kona and gets a dual tone exterior colour scheme.
The interior mirrors the exterior with many straight lines and smooth surfaces. Some of these, including its large list of features, is inspired from the Rio hatchback. A large floating infotainment system with lot of connectivity options will be one of the car’s prime attractions. This system comes with Apple Car play and Aandroid Auto.
The is ample space inside the cabin and its boot measures 352 liters.
Kia Stonic Engine
Last we heard, the Kia Stonic will share the Rio’s engine options. These include a 1.0-litre three-cylinder, 1.25-litre and 1.4-litre four-cylinder petrol engines. There is also a 1.6-litre diesel that returns the best fuel efficiency. All the engines are mated to a 5-speed manual transmission as standard.
Apart from the regular list of safety features, the car comes with many optional active safety equipment. These include Autonomous Emergency Braking with pedestrian recognition, Forward Collision Alert, Blind Spot Monitoring, Lane Departure Warning and more.
Kia Stonic Price and Release date
The Kia Stonic will make official European debut at the 2017 Frankfurt Motorshow in September. Launch in UK will only happen in 2018. The will offer Kia’s industry leading seven-year 100,000-mile warranty
Coming to the U.S, Kia has not revealed any release plans. Expect more clarity by the time of 2017 Los Angeles Auto Show.
2018 Kia Stonic India
Kia will officially enter India in the next two years. Prior to this, expect the company to make an official debut at the 2018 Auto Expo, Delhi.
