2017 Mahindra Scorpio facelift Exterior & Interior
The test mule was spotted with camouflage at front and rear, indicating that there might be extensive changes to both these regions. These include redesigned bumpers, new headlight and taillight, and a slightly different front grille. It sides see very little change.
Minor changes can be expected on the inside as well. The cabin could get a different interior colour scheme, slightly tweaked centre console and an updated infotainment system-fit with Android Auto, EcoSense and Connected Apps.
2017 Mahindra Scorpio facelift engine, hybrid and transmission
It has been confirmed that Mahindra will retain the 2.2 L mHawk Diesel engine on the upcoming facelift but with an increase in power from 120 bhp to 140 bhp. This is the same tune that the Mahindra XUV500 is available in. Also, they will replace the current automatic gearbox (now discontinued) with a more refined six-speed automatic gearbox from Japanese manufacturer Aisin Seiki.
Mahindra’s Intelli-Hybrid technology with engine start-stop technology, power assist and regenerative braking will be provided on the facelift as well.
The Indian manufacture is working with SsangYong to create new breed of petrol engines. We expect at least one of them to be part of the new Scorpio (may be not initially).
