The 2018 Bajaj Avenger 220 facelift has been launched in India. The bike comes with subtle cosmetic upgrades but, as expected, there are no mechanical changes. It continues to be available in both the Street and Cruise variants.

2018 Bajaj Avenger Cruise vs Street
Design wise, the Bajaj Avenger Cruise gets an inverted triangular headlamp with large integrated windshield and DRLs on either side. Bajaj has opted to provide LED DRLs instead of standard AHO headlamps so as to reduce power consumption and improve the bike’s premium quotient. Even the recently launched 2018 Discover 125 and 110 have this set-up.
Its seats are new and wide handlebars, heavily cushioned backrest and different exhaust heat-shield can be seen. The taillight has a different design as well.
In comparison, the Avenger Street has a different headlamp with DRLs positioned on the bottom, a small flyscreen, different backrest and a sporty handlebar. It has alloy wheels instead of spoke, and gets a front suspension cover.
A new all-digital instrument cluster is common to both the models. It is still circular in shape but the analogue dials have been replaced with a neat digital screen. The bike also takes a leaf out of the Bajaj Dominar and comes with a secondary display on the fuel tank.
Powering the Avenger facelift is the same 220cc single-cylinder unit that develops 19bhp and 17.5Nm of torque. It comes mated to a 5-speed transmission. Almost all other specifications will remain similar to the outgoing model, save for the additional 12% travel on the rear shocks.
The manufacturer has not provided ABS yet. However, as the technology is set to become mandatory for all 125cc+ motorcycles in 2019, its addition is inevitable.
