2018 Triumph Tiger 1200 design & features – Changes
Spy shots indicate that the new flagship tiger is almost production-ready. This is clearly the top-spec XC variant and comes with spoke wheels, fog lights on the beak and WP TSAS semi-active electronic suspension. The latter will be extensively improved on the new model.
Triumph has tried to stay true to the original but changes are easily noticeable. The first one is its restyled front fascia which now comes with bolder LED headlights and Daytime Running lights (DRL). There are lights beneath this main unit, and what seems to be cornering lights.
On its sides, the 2018 Tiger 1200’s bodyworks are slightly different and more attention is given to aerodynamics. However, the biggest talking points are the new TFT dash and better looking exhaust canister. Its display seems to be the same 5-inch unit that’s on the street triple and should have extensive options. There won’t be satellite navigation though. The exhaust is smaller than before and this is mostly for EURO-4 compliance.
A very intuitive three-touch cruise control should be part of the features list.
2018 Triumph Tiger 1200 engine and transmission
Power for the existing Tiger comes from a 1215 cc in-line three cylinder engine that produces 137 bhp and 123 Nm. This numbers are likely to change slightly.
