It is more powerful, efficient and gets better space inside the cabin.

|Maximum Power||169 hp|
2019 Toyota Auris / Corolla iM ( & Hybrid)- Design and specs
The teased image shows a sharper and more aggressive design for the C-segment hatchback. The car gets LED lights at front and rear, and its indicators take a different position, away from the A-pillar.
The Auris is based on a new TNGA architecture which should equate to more space inside the cabin. Spy shots indicate that there will be a different dashboard and centre console design with its infotainment system taking a higher position, above the air vents.
Toyota has confirmed that a new hybridized 2.0-liter engine will be doing duty under the hood. The Japanese manufacturer has made good use of all the information that they’ve gained from Prius development, and the Auris is claimed to have better thermal efficiency and drive dynamics.
The gasoline four-cylinder Dynamic Force Engine is capable of producing 169 horsepower (126 kilowatts) at 6,600 rpm and 205 Newton-meters (151 pound-feet) of torque from 4,800 rpm. However, in hybrid variants it is rated at 144 hp (107 kW) at 6,000 rpm and 180 Nm (133 lb-ft) at 4,400 rpm. With hybrids being as efficient as they are, diesel engines could be dropped from the line-up.
The engine is mated to two transmission units- 6-speed manual and a direct-shift CVT. The former is claimed to be the smallest transmission in the world but as per Toyota, is better in every way when compared to the outgoing unit. There are also two four-wheel drive systems- Dynamic Torque Vectoring AWD and E-Four, tailored for gasoline and hybrid variants respectively.
