2019 Ford Focus ST, RS, Active and other variants

New Ford Focus all variants

The 2019 Ford Focus has been revealed in Europe. The car is in its fourth generation and gets a number of changes, both in its interior and exterior. Currently, only five variants have been revealed, but one more- the ST, could follow soon. The Focus RS will only debut later on it life cycle.

The sheer number of variations just show how popular this car is in Europe. This is also a cost-effective way to gain more sales. The new Ford Focus will be produced in Germany.

Stateside, however, only the hatchback and sedan will be available. Of course that includes the ST and RS trims as well. The cars coming here will be produced in China.

These are the variants:

2019 Ford Focus hatchback

The new Focus hatchback is now sharper and sleeker than ever. It gets an aerodynamic design and is based on a new, longer C2 platform.

The car is available in a number of variants including ST-line, ST and RS.

Focus ST-Line

This is a slightly more aggressive version of the Focus. The ST-line is great for people who want better aesthetics from their Focus, but with its efficiency and ergonomics intact.

The Focus ST-line doesn’t have the outright power of the ST but it does look the part.

Focus ST

This is the hot version!. It has not been revealed but a more than believable render is available (see above). Also, the ST-line model gives a pretty good idea on what to expect.

According to a recent report, the 2019 Ford Focus ST will replace its 2.0 liter engine with a lighter yet powerful 1.5-liter unit. This should produce a maximum of 275 hp, which is more than the current car’s 252hp. There will be a diesel variant as well.

Focus RS

The top-of-the-line Ford Focus RS is expected to reach dealerships in 2020. It will come with a 2.3-liter engine, and for the first time ever, more than 400bhp of power. Specifically speaking, the new Focus RS will produce 400 horsepower and 425 pound-feet (576 Newton-meters) of toque, mated to a dual-clutch automatic transmission.

2019 Ford Focus sedan

The Focus sedan will share its styling with the hatchback but has a mature take of it. It reminds me of the Maruti Dzire which is available in India.

When compared to the hatchback, this one has slightly different bumper and horizontal chrome grille. There’s chrome lining the grille and windows as well.

The Focus Wagon

The Focus Wagon is a slightly extended version of the hatchback. It has more space inside the cabin and comes with a different set of alloy wheels. It closely resembles the sedan.

The Active is Focus’ crossover version and comes with a slightly different front fascia, higher ground clearance, flared wheel arches and roof rails. It looks butch and should be a worthy addition to the segment.

The Ford Focus Vignale is its most luxurious model and comes in a beautiful Aubergine colour scheme. Extensive use of chrome and silver shades provide a gorgeous contrast.
