I totally understand being kicked-out off some of the Chevy Blazer Facebook groups for sharing this but the crossover above is without doubt, the 2019 Chevrolet Blazer. Like the upcoming Ford Bronco, this might not be the SUV we want but is part of the fresh wave of tag-recycling that’s going on in the US automotive sector.
The Blazer name tag has been gathering dust for close to eighteen years now. GM already has a small gap in their crossover line-up which, along with new developments from competitors, make them feel that this is the ideal time to revive the brand!
Let’s check out some of the spy images in detail:
2019 Chevrolet Blazer price and release date
The new Chevy Blazer is positioned between the Equinox and Traverse, and will be priced accordingly. The car will go on sale this year as a 2019 model and as a competitor to the Ford Edge and Nissan Murrano.
Blazer 2019 design and powertrain
The Blazer’s retro-boxy design is a thing of the past and the new model looks like any of the Crossovers on our roads. In fact, this would even pass of as an Equinox test mule. The car will be based on a new Chi crossover platform, which also underpins other GMC cars like the second-gen Acadia and the new Cadillac XT5.
The 2019 Chevrolet Blazer will have a few engine options under it hood. What we are betting on is an entry-level 2.5-liter inline four and a 3.6-liter V6. Power and performance figures will come out close to reveal.
