New BMW X5 2019 – It’s new and improved
Though the new X5 is longer, wider and higher than the current model, what you will probably immediately notice is its refreshed front fascia. The SUV gets the largest kidney grille on a production BMW yet, and is prominent and imposing. Its sculpted hood and new bumper (with larger air vents) compliment these changes nicely. Adaptive headlamps are standard while BMW’s Laserlights are an option.
Sides look good and the rear gets two-piece split taillights, larger bumper and skid plates.
For the model year 2019, the X5 will offer third row seat as an option. In order to access them easily, electric slide and fold functions will be provided on the second row seats. Up front, the instruments and infotainment system will each get a 12.3-inch digital display. There’s a head-up display as well.
Features like panoramic sunroof, ambient air package, 20 speaker Bowers & Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound System and 10.2-inch touchscreen displays for the rear seat are optional.
The 2019 BMW X5 debuts with two new gasoline engines. The most interesting of which is a 4.4-liter V8 that comes with the xDrive50i trim. This engine is capable of producing 456 hp between 5,250 and 6,000 rpm and 479 lb-ft at 1,500 to 4,750 rpm. The second one is a 3.0-liter straight six producing 335 hp and 330 lb-ft, powering the xDrive40i trim. The 0-60 mph times of these engines are 4.6 and 5.3 seconds respectively.
Transmission is an eight speed automatic with AWD and optional locking rear differential.
Stay tuned for more updates on the new X5!
