Jawa 300 Classic Roadster: Engine and exhaust note

Jawa had already revealed the 293 cc, single-cylinder mill that’s going in to the bike. It is capable of producing 27 bhp of power and 28 Nm of peak torque, mated to a 6 speed gearbox.

Mid-end grunt is what the company is aiming for, and a team of acoustic engineers have worked exhaustively to get that now forgotten original sound note.

A worthy competition for Royal Enfield?

New Jawa 300 spied

Definitely! Royal Enfield has had the very popular ‘classic’ niche solely in its shoulder for quite some time now and the lack of competition was very evident. The quality and features offered were simply not in lines with the price commanded, and many customers have voiced displeasure. However, they have steadily improved in recent times and are all set to completely revamp the line-up by 2020.

More competition will lead to better products and with Jawa 300 Roadster directly competing with Royal Enfield’s biggest cash cow- The Classic 350, they would have no choice but to improve the latter. Hopefully, these upgrades are not far off.
