2020 Hyundai Palisade \\ vs Explorer, Pilot & Highlander
The 2020 Hyundai Palisade will reach US shores by spring next year. It will be the biggest SUV in their portfolio and replaces the erstwhile Santa Fe XL. Being late to the ‘3-row’ party, the Palisade will have to show its mettle against proven competition from the Ford Explorer, Toyota Highlander and the Honda Pilot.
Good Exterior and impressive interior
Addressing the most-in-need demand, Hyundai has provided a very spacious, tech-laden interior for the Palisade. Its exterior looks good too but probably has enough going on to garner mixed responses.
The Palisade’s profile is designed just-right, which is always great to see. Its rear looks nice too and has nothing much to complain. People might take objection to its front though but that’s only if you look dead –on.
The SUV has a giant lighting arrangement, with upside-down headlights and vertical LEDs. This looks great from the side but not so much from the front as it cramps up the grille.
The Hyundai Palisade really shines on the inside and looks top of the bunch. This is achieved through the use of high-end material, numerous soft touch surfaces, proper lighting and effective space utilization.
The second-row seats get heating and ventilation (apart from the front ones), and this is probably the most comfortable section. The third row seats are low but don’t disappoint in terms of bum support, atleast as much as some of the others we’ve seen.
2020 Hyundai Palisade- Engine and Specs
The Palisade in US will be solely powered by a direct-injected 3.8-liter V-6 NA, expected to produce 291 hp at 6000 rpm and 262 lb-ft of torque at 5000 rpms. This will be mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission sending power to the front wheels as standard. There an optional AWD with extended ride modes such as on-road (Comfort, Eco, Sport, and Smart) and off-road (Snow, Mud, and Sand).
2020 Hyundai Palisade- Price and Release date in USA
The new Hyundai Palisade is likely to be priced just above the $30,000 mark, extending all the way up to $50,000. It will begin to reach dealerships by Spring of 2019 as a 2020 model.
